In an uninsulated steel container, the ceiling cools considerably at night; the moisture in the interior air condenses there and drips down \u2013 the so-called \u201ccontainer rain&#8221; or \u201ccontainer sweat&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Countermeasures: <strong>ventilation<\/strong> (vent grilles for cross ventilation), <strong>desiccants<\/strong> (absorber bags, granules) for short-term storage, and for permanent use <strong>insulation with a vapour barrier<\/strong>, which separates the cold steel surface from the warm interior.
