New, one-way or used?
Für die meisten Einsätze reicht ein gebrauchter 20 Fuß Container im Zustand „Wind and Watertight“ – dicht und stabil, mit sichtbaren Gebrauchsspuren. Ein One-way container has made only one sea voyage and looks almost new; the right choice for conversions and for locations where the container will be visible. Brand-new containers are worthwhile if a specific colour is required – alternatively, any container can be painted afterwards in a RAL colour of your choice. Cargo Worthy and CSC plate
Soll der Container tatsächlich verschifft werden, reicht „Wind and Watertight“ nicht: Nötig ist die Klasse „Cargo Worthy“ and a valid CSC plate – the certificate under the International Convention for Safe Containers, which confirms the container's structural soundness and must be renewed regularly. For stationary use as storage or as a conversion base, this is irrelevant; a container without a valid plate is therefore not worse, just no longer seaworthy. Tell us in your enquiry whether shipping is planned, and we will select a suitable unit from the outset.

What is a 20 ft container used for?
- Storage: weatherproof, lockable storage space for business and private use
- Construction site: Store materials and tools securely
- Conversion: Base for an office, workshop or sales stand – usually a High Cube because of the interior height
- Overseas shipping: mit Zustandsklasse „Cargo Worthy“ und gültiger CSC-Plakette
Around 11 Euro pallets fit in a single layer on the floor, and the typical payload is about 10 tonnes.
20 or 40 ft – which is more economical?
Per cubic metre, the 40 ft container is considerably cheaper; if you have the space and the need, it is the better choice. The 20 ft still wins in three cases: when the site cannot accommodate 12 metres plus manoeuvring space, when the container is to be relocated later – a 20 ft can be moved with much smaller equipment – and when heavy goods are loaded, because with the same permissible payload the floor area is smaller and the load is more concentrated. Even more compact for tools, garden use or as a conversion base is the 8 ft container. For comparison: Buy a 40 ft container.
Delivery and placement
We deliver by truck, with a loader crane on request for pinpoint offloading. You need a load-bearing, level surface and clear access. Details: Container transport and logistics.
