How much does it cost to have a shipping container transported?

The costs depend in particular on distance, container size, type of transport and the offloading required.

Container transport by crane truck or side loader – including offloading

With this type of transport, the container is transported to the delivery location and offloaded on site.

Container transport by truck – without offloading

If you have your own offloading facilities at the delivery location, the container can be delivered on a container chassis.

Offloading is not included with this option.

Container transport by rail

For longer distances, rail transport can be an alternative to direct road transport.

Service as per the current price list: transport by rail, loaded onto your truck.

Depending on the destination, onward truck transport may also be required.

What makes up container transport costs?

The final transport price depends on several factors.

• Container size: A 20 ft container has different requirements than a 40 ft or High Cube container.
• Distance: The departure depot, delivery location and actual transport route affect the costs.
• Transport type: Trucks without unloading, crane trucks, side loaders and rail transport differ in effort and service.
• Unloading: If unloading is required at the delivery location, it must be taken into account in transport planning.
• Waiting times: Delays at the delivery location can cause additional costs.
• Diesel surcharge: A variable diesel surcharge applies to the relevant truck deliveries.

The diesel surcharge is reviewed regularly and may be adjusted monthly.

The transport prices shown are therefore intended as a guide. For your specific delivery, you will receive a transport price calculated at current rates.

How long does a container delivery take?

The delivery time depends on container availability, departure depot, delivery location, mode of transport, and vehicle or terminal availability.

For rail transport and combined transport routes, terminal processes and possible pre-carriage and on-carriage must also be taken into account.

The specific delivery options and the expected date will be agreed as part of the individual quote or order processing.

How much does transporting a 20 ft container over 100 km cost?

Bei einer Lieferung ab Depot mit Kran-/Seitenlader inklusive Abladen beträgt der Orientierungspreis bis 100 km 580 € zzgl. aktuellem Dieselzuschlag.

How much does transporting a 40 ft container over 100 km cost?

For 1 × 40′ DV or 40′ HC, the guide price for up to 100 km with a crane truck or side loader, including offloading, is 690 € plus the current diesel surcharge.

Is offloading included?

Offloading is included in the stated prices for crane trucks and side loaders. It is not included for transport on a container chassis.

Are there other transport options?

Yes. Depending on the route and destination, rail, inland waterway or combined transport may also be an option.
